Tunisia - “Al-Quds Al-Arabi”: Canadian researcher Eric Walberg confirmed that the world is witnessing a major battle between international public opinion and global Zionism, indicating that the latter has begun to lose this battle, with half a million Israelis undertaking “Yerida” (a Hebrew term meaning the emigration of Jews from Israel ), after October 7, “which dispels the Zionist dream of gathering all the Jews of the world in Israel as a safe haven.”

Walberg is a prominent critic of global capitalism and Western support for Israel, as he wrote a number of books in this field, such as: “Canada Israel Nexus”, “Postmodern Imperialism: Geopolitics and the Great Games,” and “From Postmodernism to Postsecularism: The Re-emergence of Islamic Civilization”.

He said, in an exclusive interview with Al-Quds Al-Arabi: “All of Israel’s attempts to forcibly expel Palestinians to other countries have failed. We are not in 1948, that is, before the era of television and social media, and no Arab country will fall prey to Israeli plans aimed at emptying Palestine is from the Palestinians, and the global refugee crisis will not leave room for the millions of Palestinians whom Israel turned into refugees (after the bombing of the Gaza Strip).”

He added: “It is beginning to become clear how Israel’s neighbors will react. Jordan participated in an oral argument before the International Court of Justice in February (regarding Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian territories), and Egypt, Israel’s most loyal neighbor, joined South Africa’s case before the International Court of Justice in April, (on charges of committing war crimes in Gaza). Egypt rejected Israel’s request to shelter Gaza residents “temporarily”. The Lebanese Hezbollah also continues its attacks against Israeli settlers, and Syria continues its war to reclaim the Golan Heights and return Palestinian refugees to their homes. There is a new will among them to put a final end to 75 years of terrorism in Israel.”

The two-state solution is over

In the same context, Walberg believes that the two-state solution “ended a long time ago.” More than 500,000 Israeli settlers live in the West Bank, 220,000 settlers in East Jerusalem, and 20,000 settlers in the Golan Heights settlements, which represents 10% of Israel's population. Since October 7, 253,000 settlers have been evacuated from the north, and 80% of them refuse to return until the situation is safe. The two-state solution requires uprooting these illegal settlers and leaving their gated communities behind. Let us remember the forced evacuation of settlers from Gaza. “This is not a pretty picture!”

He also pointed out that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “refuses to discuss the idea of establishing an independent state for the Palestinians, and insists on Israeli control over all of Palestine.” If Israel ultimately agrees to honest negotiations, the best and only viable outcome will be a one-state solution (the South African model).”

Walberg stressed that Israel “is still intent on eradicating the Palestinians, but events are moving quickly (and adversely), and it will not take long before we realize that the party is over, and that we must finally face the horrific consequences of 75 years of impunity.” Half a million Israelis have already performed “Yerida” in the past six months, which is the opposite of “Aliya,” which signifies the immigration of Jews to Israel. The Zionist dream of gathering all the Jews of the world in Israel as a “safe haven” has finally collapsed.”

He added: “The ‘writing on the wall’ of Belshazzar has become visible to all.” Daniel (Hamas) reminds Belshazzar that his father Nebuchadnezzar, when he became arrogant (against God), fell until he learned that God has sovereignty over the kingdom of men,” referring to the book of the Prophet Daniel in the Torah, which predicted the fall of Babylon.

On the other hand, Walberg criticized the International Criminal Prosecutor’s request, Karim Khan, for arrest warrants against Netanyahu, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas leaders on charges of “committing war crimes and crimes against humanity,” noting that the decision equates Israel with the Hamas movement.

The International Criminal Court’s decision 10 years late

He added: “Yes, Israel committed war crimes, but this ruling should have been issued at least ten years ago, when Israel invaded Gaza (in 2014), killing 2,310 people, 70% of whom were civilians.” . The purpose of a war crimes charge is supposed to be to prevent further killing. If the International Criminal Court had acted earlier, October 7, a day that symbolizes hope for Palestinians and disaster for Israel, could have been avoided.

Walberg: What Israel ignores is that there are six million Palestinians in exile, many of whom still have the keys to their occupied homes, and that there is a large and rising wave of international sympathy for the Palestinians, in addition to the Mark of Cain with which Israel has been branded.”

He continued by saying: “Israel has shamelessly increased its criminality in front of the world, and the battle is now between world public opinion and global Zionism. The ruling of the International Court of Justice will not have any impact on Israeli actions, and therefore the court’s ruling will not end fear and killing in the near future.”

He continued by saying: “As for the actual charges, the most serious crimes committed by Israel - torture and genocide - have not been mentioned yet, because the decision is still just a request, and more charges could be brought against Israel.”

The horrific evidence of detainees' hands being horribly cut off due to torture, and other detainees being paraded in their underwear in front of bloodthirsty settlers, will remain in our minds until we die. This is a crime that amounts to Nazi crimes.

He considered that the Hamas movement “was able to deal a fatal blow to the occupier, but at a horrific cost.” Although the Palestinians can barely survive now under Israeli control, they are still able to resist, inspiring resistance movements around the world and prompting thousands to convert to Islam.”

“Israel’s evasion of international sanctions has only made it behave more and more criminally, and Israel and the United States refuse to recognize the International Criminal Court.”

Walberg stressed that the charges that the “International Criminal Court” will bring against Israel’s leaders “will be ignored by the United States and its closest allies in the “collective West,” although Netanyahu and Gallant should be careful not to pass through other countries on their trips abroad. This is the best thing that could happen to Netanyahu and Gallant to bring them to their senses.”

The false democracy of the West

On the other hand, Walberg considered that the attack launched by Hamas and other resistance factions on October 7 was a natural response to the Israeli occupation, stressing that most of the civilian dead were killed by “friendly fire” from Israeli tanks and aircraft, in accordance with the Hannibal Protocol.

He stressed that the Israeli occupation forces “are now carrying out pure acts of revenge by targeting women and children (instead of Hamas fighters), and it is clear that the intention is genocide, that is, eliminating women and children to accelerate the elimination of Palestinians in the future.” If Israel were serious about finding a way to live in peace with the indigenous people (Palestinians), it would not kill and torture them randomly. “It is in no way possible to equate what Israel is doing with what the Palestinians are doing, who have the right to resist occupation under the United Nations Charter.”

Walberg added: “Israel has blackmailed the Palestinian Authority all along to prevent it from resorting to the International Criminal Court, considering that this would be a ‘hostile act’ and would have ‘consequences.’” The International Criminal Court has been ridiculed for issuing arrest warrants for Putin and African leaders, which were politically motivated. But it simply cannot now avoid accusing Netanyahu (of committing war crimes) based on tens of thousands of documented war crimes.

Regarding the great contradiction between the position of Western peoples and regimes regarding what is happening in Gaza, Walberg said: “With the continued massacre and the continued flow of weapons to Israel, most of them from the United States, Britain and Germany, desperate students set up protest camps on the grounds of their universities, and Palestinian support groups increased their calls.” To boycott, divest, and impose sanctions on Israel. The West tried to stop this. Arms-producing countries in particular attacked the demonstrators and attempted to disperse their tents, arresting and beating thousands. University administrations also imposed sanctions on students and expelled them, and faculty members who sympathized with them were exposed to a wave of psychological pressure, but they courageously joined the students, even though they were threatened with losing their jobs.”

He concluded: “The disconnect between the ruling elites and the masses, or the false democracy of the West, has never been clearer, but popular movements in various parts of the world are moving the Israeli mountain. The drama is unfolding in real time.”

The Turks boast that they received the Jews. The history of the Jews in Turkey covers 2,400 years during which the Jews lived in what is known today as Turkey. Jewish communities have existed in Anatolia since at least the fifth century BC, and many Jews were displaced from Spain and Portugal after the Alhambra Decree was issued and stipulated the expulsion of Jews from Spain. The Ottoman Empire received them in the late fifteenth century, and they lived in areas that are today considered part of Turkey. Over the course of several centuries, these people collectively constituted the Ottoman Jews.
